ROMAN KOVAL

Roman Koval (Ukraine) is serving as a Regional mediator for the Mediation Services of the World bank and for Independent Project Accountability Mechanism (EBRD) as well as a dispute resolution professional for Compliance Adviser Ombudsmen Office (IFC and MIGA Accountability Mechanism). He is also an experienced facilitator, trainer and restorative justice practitioner, who is one of the pioneers of court-connected mediation in Ukraine in civic and criminal cases. During his career, Mr. Roman Koval had about 1000 hours of mediation and facilitation experience in Ukraine and abroad.

He has authored and co-authored many guides, manuals and articles on mediation as well as educational materials, policy papers and regulations. He brings about 20 years of experience in professional training and facilitating of workshops, training events for students and tutors, conferences, strategic planning processes and building partnerships for diverse groups. His clients include representatives of all professional backgrounds starting from schools and universities, local community leaders and governments, businessmen, dispute resolution professionals, legal system representatives and ending with state officials and diplomats both in Ukraine and abroad. At present he serves as the Head of Board for the Institute for Peace and Common Ground, Ukraine

Mr. Roman Koval is a graduate of the Odessa Medical University (MD, 1993). He is fluent in Russian, Ukrainian and English and currently resides in Kyiv, Ukraine.
