ADR Center’s trainings, designed in full accordance with the requirements of the specific national law, are internationally recognised as the standard of excellence in ADR qualification.
The trainings methodology in basic mediation techniques will be based on the proven ADR Center’s four by four matrix developed to facilitate the transfer of know-how to new mediators over the four main phases of mediation (preparation, opening joint session, private sessions and closing session). For each phase, the trainer will illustrate goals, agenda and tactics.
Each square of the matrix represents an argument that will be explored with the participants through lectures, power-point presentations, simulations, role-play, video and feedbacks.
4 STEPS is the Teaching method developed by ADR Center to offer participants the opportunity to learn, in a quick and stimulating way, by offering immediate practice exercises and one-on-one feedback.
Depending on the complexity of the exercise, the role play might precede the video, to prevent participants from simply mimicking the behavior of the actors.
The opportunity to experience regular interactions with mediators from all over the world is a priceless privilege, and perhaps even a prerequisite to be able to train effectively in a multidisciplinary field such as mediation and conflict management. At the end of the course – and once passing the final test – each trainee will become ‘ADR Center Accredited Mediator’.
This course is designed to teach mediators the skills required to be able to conduct complex mediations and understand how to work with special and challenging mediation situations.
Building mediation training capacity is an important and necessary step toward helping create a qualified cadre of mediators in a specific local context.
